Sibelius Monument
From Wikipedia: "Jean Sibelius (December 8, 1865 – September 20, 1957) was a Finnish composer of classical music, and one of the most popular composers of the late 19th and early 20th century. His music and genius have also played an important role in forming the Finnish national identity."
There is a monument dedicated to him in Helskinki, Finland. These are my close-up shots of the monument. For other people's pictures of the monument from other angles, click here.

Going on a outing
I never knew that swan babies like to ride piggy-back! But if you look closely at Mama in this picture, you'll see a tiny grey fluff-ball between her wings.
The photo is a little grainy, because my point-and-shoot digital camera has only 3x optical zoom, so I cropped and zoomed in PhotoShop to make the birds a little larger.

Sunlight on the vines

Rudesheim is a little city in the mid-Rhine district in Germany, noted for its vineyards. I love the way the sunshine glows through the leaves in the late afternoon.

Blossoms

"...We mourn for the blossoms of May because they are to wither, but we know withal that May shall have its revenge upon November, in the revolution of that solemn circle that never stops and that teaches us, in our height of hope ever to be sober, and in our depth of desolation, never to despair."
-- John Cardinal Newman
